A new CD has been released on Somm featuring works by 12 composers who were members of the Savile Club. In 2018, the club celebrated its
150th anniversary with a recital by pianist Alexander Karpeyev and it is the basis of this recording.
Two works of Sir Malcolm are included:
Variations on a Ukrainian Folk Song, the most substantial work on the CD
and the Savile Centenary Fanfare as a premiere recording!
The other composers represented are:
Arthur Benjamin, Charles Villiers Stanford, Edward Elgar, Francis Chagrin, Henry Balfour Gardiner, Herbert Howells, Hubert Parry, Julian Anderson, Roger Quilter, Virgil Thomson, William Alwyn, & William Walton
